Gabay Guro: Empowering Teachers and Enhancing Education
Gabay Guro is an education and reference program developed by PLDT-SMART FOUNDATION Inc. It is the flagship advocacy program for teachers spearheaded by PLDT-Smart Foundation and the PLDT Managers Club, Inc. The program aims to improve the quality of education in the Philippines and actively support the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Through its Seven Key Pillars, including scholarships, teachers' trainings, livelihood programs, connectivity, and computerization, teachers' tribute events, and digital innovations, Gabay Guro empowers teachers across the country. The program provides opportunities for teachers to achieve a better and more sustainable future, enabling them to pass on these opportunities to their students.
In today's new normal, where staying at home and working from home is necessary, the Gabay Guro App plays a crucial role in digital transformation within the teaching community. Developed in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), the app provides access to e-learning content, interactive technology, and digital tools and connections. It enhances the teaching and learning experiences of teachers, students, and parents, creating a better-connected community of Filipino educators and learners.
